Late Shift: Boris DeBackere @ Foyer

The festival days end with a series of DJ sets in the Foyer of the Akademie on Hanseatenweg, marking the final hour before the building closes for the artists, visitors and personnel.

Boris DeBackerestudied image and sound at the Conservatory and Academy of The Hague. His main interests are the relation, possible integration, of different expression forms and interface design for live performances, all with an emphasis on electronic image & sound. He is founder of Squint vzw and Gate4, organisation for 'new media experiments' and works freelance for V2, Institute for Unstable Media at Rotterdam. He did sound design on Herman Asselberghs' film 'a.m./p.m.' (2004) and programming as well as soundtrack composing for Marnix de Nijs' installation 'Run Motherfucker Run' (2004). He is currently working on the live cinema performance 'rotor' (commissioned by WORM-Rotterdam).
